I am a life balance mentor for working moms. I work full-time as the Director of Recruitment for YDO a nonprofit organization, the WMB podcast host, blog founder and writer with two wildly beautiful little kids.
The BIG mission is to support and empower ambitious working moms with kids to self-define balance, on their terms. They want to both build a career they love while raise a family, but fear they are overcommitting, too overwhelmed and burn out it right around the corner.
I am here to tell you that YOU CAN self-define balance! Society will always make us feel like we are not good moms for building a career, but you know DEEP INSIDE that it’s not true. Don’t be afraid or intimidated by the word balance (and the pressures of what it is supposed to look and feel like).

Self-care: mind, body & soul
What is the step we all want to skip (or think we don’t have time for) and then ignore, but we KNOW we can’t?! Before we can meet the needs of those around us, we need to meet our OWN needs. We need to understand or values, foster them, and care for ourselves FIRST. We need to ask the tough questions and create a killa’ mindset that will get us through anything and everything.
So, what do we do after we are finally showing ourselves the love, understanding our why but STILL have a million and one things to do?! That is when we start to better understand our good and not so good habits. We learn more about our best way to keep organized (not the way our mom or sister keep organized). This includes routine building for us and the family.
Recognize & lean on your support team
But still, even with a powerhouse mindset and a clear-cut morning and evening routine, chaos still shows up in our day. This is where our support team comes into play – something so important as a working parent. Our support can look so many ways: caregiver, partner, family, therapist, online community etc. But we are not alone!
